Under the leadership of Business Manager Melanie Baldy, the school has teamed up with pioneering initiative—Eat School Rent—that perfectly blends forward-thinking with a deep commitment to serving the local area.

On Wednesday 28th January 2026, BSfG will throw open its doors for a first-of-its-kind kitchen takeover, welcoming the award-winning Chakana restaurant into the heart of the school. This special event is not just about great food—though with Chakana’s menu, there will be plenty of that—but about celebrating the power of community collaboration and creative use of school resources.

Through the Eat School Rent initiative, BSfG is reshaping what it means to be a community-centered school. By inviting esteemed local businesses to use its state-of-the-art kitchen facilities, the school is supporting entrepreneurship, bringing new flavors to the area, and creating innovative fundraising opportunities that directly benefit its students.

The Chakana event promises an unforgettable culinary experience for everyone in the neighborhood. Guests can savor mouthwatering dishes like roast chicken croquetas, crispy yuca frita, Peruvian tamales (chicken and vegetarian), and alfajores with dulce de leche. Classics such as ceviche, empanadas, gourmet burgers, succulent roast chicken, and rich chocolate mousse round out a menu designed to delight every palate—delivered fresh to your door or ready for collection right at BSfG school!
