Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to Brentford School for Girls. We pride ourselves on providing girls and young women with an exceptional quality of education, alongside the opportunity to develop the broader skills required to be successful in a changing world.

Our vision is to nurture and support our girls and young women to become the women of the future: women who are confident, ambitious and resilient, and who can tackle all the challenges of adult life. We are a small school with big ambition. When Ofsted visited us, they said: “The school’s ethos is one of ‘every child counts’.” This belief is at the heart of everything we do.

Our girls achieve exceptionally well academically, and we are consistently in the top 10% of schools nationally for the progress our pupils make. However, education is about much more to us than a set examination results. The development of new skills and experiences is absolutely critical to us, and all of our girls take part in numerous extracurricular activities across the school. We run more than 80 clubs each year across the school as well as many trips and visits, giving pupils opportunities to discover new interests and develop their talents.

We are sports champions in a number of competitions across the borough, and our pupils’ achievements outside the classroom regularly feature in the news and local press. Leadership is also important to us. Our girls have significant leadership opportunities within school, helping us to run and shape our school culture.

Our pastoral care system is excellent. We look after and nurture our girls so that they feel safe in school and successful in their achievements. We also run an all-girls autistic provision on the school site, as well as provision for pupils who may be struggling with their mental health.

Our drive at Brentford is to nurture the young woman described in our vision, and we hope that you will share this vision. Come and visit us to see what we are all about. We know you will not be disappointed!
