Escalation and Allegations Against Staff

Concerns about the behaviour of a member of staff should be reported immediately to the Headteacher (email). Concerns about the Headteacher should be reported to the Chair of Governors (email)

Allegations against adults working with children may also be referred to the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO). If you believe a safeguarding concern has not been addressed appropriately, you may contact Children's Social Care directly.

Whistleblowing

We encourage staff, volunteers and contractors to report any concern regarding the conduct of adults working with children. Concerns can be raised with the Headteacher, Chair of Governors, LADO or through the school's Whistleblowing Policy.

What happens next:

The concern is passed on to a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or DDSL, who records it and decides what actions need to be taken or what support needs to be implemented. We offer as much support within our school as we can, ranging from a conversation with a trusted adult or therapy with a mentor or a trained Thrive Practitioner. If a student needs more intensive support than what the school can offer, we request this help from outside agencies, such as early help services, children's social care, the police or health services including CAMHS.

We keep the students’ wishes and feelings at the center, explain what is happening in a way that suits their age, and we always reassure them that information is shared on a strictly ‘need to know’ basis.
