Volunteering

Volunteering

There are many opportunities here at school for students to get involved with volunteering. As well as the School Leadership opportunities (which include Year Council Rep, Sports Leader and House Captain), students are encouraged to take part and help out at whole school events including open evenings and other school events. Details of all volunteering roles in school can be found here.

Benefits of volunteering

Volunteering is a fantastic way for students to increase their confidence and gain employability skills such as communication, team work, numeracy, IT, leadership and initiative. Other benefits include:

  • Learning new skills
  • Meeting new people
  • Standing out from the crowd when applying for work, apprenticeships or higher education
  • Increased confidence and feelings of well-being
  • Students record their volunteering hours and are recognised for this each term through assembly
