Students who have demonstrated a diligent attitude and academic potential during their GCSEs will be encouraged to join Brentford 6th form’s Newnham Programme. The aim of the programme is to increase student’s capacity and confidence in progressing to a first class future education at one of Britain’s top universities. The programme includes university research trips and guided analysis tasks, and it culminates in the Extended Project Qualification which students carry out over years 12-13. The EPQ is equivalent to an AS grade, and the skills it develops are highly favoured by Oxford, Cambridge and other prestigious universities in London and across the country.

The completion of an independent dissertation style research project, concluding in an essay, report, debate or presentation.

Trips to Russell Group universities in London and further afield.
Achieving the EPQ will stand you in good stead to apply to the top Russell Group universities or other highly competitive universities to study Sciences, Medicine, Humanities or Arts.
