Dear Parents/carers
I am delighted to be able to tell you that Brentford School for Girls has achieved its best ever GCSE results. Congratulations to Year 11 who achieved a stunning 82% 5 or more A* - C passes. This is a 14% increase from last year where we achieved 68%. 58% of students achieved the 5 or more GSCE grades A* - C including English and Maths. This is also up on last year. There were some exceptional achievers with a number of girls achieving more than 5 A* passes.
We are all totally delighted with these results which come on the back of our excellent performance at Post 16 within both ‘A’ level and vocational courses. 74% of students who sat ‘A’ level courses this year achieved A* - C grades with the largest majority of students who sat BTEC courses achieving the prestigious ‘Distinction’ grade.
These results are absolutely fantastic and a huge thank you goes out to staff and students who all worked exceptionally hard this year to achieve these.
I hope that you are having an enjoyable and restful summer break. School begins again on the 6th September. Year 7 students will start at the normal time of 8.45am whilst students in Years 8 to 11 will be expected to be in for break time at 10.30am. I have enclosed a copy of your daughter’s timetable for September. Please make sure that she looks at this before we return and that she brings it with her on the first day back.
Yours daughter’s tutor base room is written on the timetable. If she is in Years 8 – 11 she will need to go to this room at the end of break time on the first day. I do hope that these arrangements are clear.
We are really looking forward to welcoming your daughters back to school with a special welcome for our new Year 7s.
Enjoy the rest of the summer break.
Kind regards
Ms M Leenders
